Merger & Acquisition (M&A) Outlook for 2025

I’ve just returned from the Alliance and Mergers and Acquisition (AM&AA) Winter conference that was held in Scottsdale, Arizona in January. The Alliance of Mergers and Acquisition Advisors is an international M&A organization that has over 1,100 professionals spanning 25 different countries. Its members include investment bankers, private equity groups (PEGs), debt & equity providers, and other deal-making professionals. The conference was well attended.

What is the outlook for 2025?  A resurgence of optimism.  Transaction deal volume is expected to increase.  Sectors of the economy especially mentioned are the “trades” or contractors of all sorts. Here is what I mean, just to name a few:

  • HVAC
  • Plumbing
  • Termite
  • Roofing

  • Electrical
  • Termite
  • Landscaping

Other Businesses: Property Management / Pool Maintenance / CPA firms

If you own and operate any of the above businesses, you should be aware that all kinds of buyers, especially PEGs and other investors, have been making acquisitions, and the pace of acquisitions has really picked up over the past year. All of these above-type businesses are very hot and buyers are looking to aggressively “Add-On” additional operations to their existing platforms or to start their own platforms from which they will make additional Add-on purchases. By attending the AM&AA conference, of which we were one of the few investment banking firms from DFW who attended, we stay abreast of current M&A trends and activity.
